I’m a multidisciplinary UX/UI designer with 5+ years of experience at SaaS startups and established companies, designing bespoke experiences to create value and increase productivity.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated with tackling the challenge of understanding how things work. I remember driving my parents crazy by always asking questions like “Why?”, “How come?”.
Along with my innate sense of curiosity, I’ve always had an affinity for art and design, specifically sketching. I even sold my sketches in middle school. Eventually, I transitioned those skills into a digital medium as I taught myself software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects to take my creativity to the next level.
Early in my professional career, I worked in the Accounting/Finance world. I acquired skills that allowed me to create an insightful image from endless lines of data, but I always felt like something was missing. I needed to balance things with an element of the creativity that I’ve loved since I was a child.
In pursuit of a new career, I ventured from my home in New Orleans to the Bay Area where I became enthralled in the tech world. Working in SaaS startups for a few years, I began to develop a passion for great products and the users that are drawn to them. This lead me to pivot to a career in user experience design, where I've built my design foundation of empathy, communication, focus and growth.
Working as a user experience designer has allowed me to combine all of my skills, passions and affinities to help solve complex problems that help people every day. This has become my driving force for wanting to constantly improve as a designer.
I'm always looking for inspiration in everything that I experience and witness. "How would I improve this design?" "What challenges and constraints did the designers experience in their process?" Over the years, I’ve also read several books on design methodologies, human psychology and HTML and CSS will the goal of expanding my outlook and skillset as a designer.
If I'm not focused on my craft, I love to experience life with my family. My little mini-me's keep me young :)
For fun, I'll read manga, play games, fiddle with my rubik's cube, sketch, exercise and watch sports. I love watching basketball (Bulls) and football (Eagles).
